Summerlin Schools 2026: Public, Magnet, Charter and Private

CCSD's 2026-27 zoning data sent 31 Summerlin addresses we checked to 10 elementary, 4 middle and 5 high schools, so the street decides the school, not the village name. Here are the zoned, magnet, open-enrollment, charter and private options, with addresses, grades and the 2027-28 application dates.

Summerlin is one master plan, but it is not one school zone. The Clark County School District assigns public schools by address, and the lines it draws run through villages, between neighboring parks and across ZIP codes. Two homes a short walk apart can be zoned to different elementary schools, and a few Summerlin addresses are not zoned to the high school most buyers expect.

I rebuilt this guide around what a buyer can check. I ran the district's own 2026-27 zoning data at 31 Summerlin addresses, listed the public schools that sit inside Summerlin's villages, and pulled the application rules and dates for magnet programs, open enrollment, charter schools and the private campuses in and near the community. I do not rate or rank schools. Every name, grade range and address below comes from the district, the state charter authority or the school itself.

Summerlin's public schools belong to the Clark County School District, and your street address, not your village, sets the zoned school. At 31 Summerlin addresses we checked on October 8, 2026, CCSD's 2026-27 zoning data returned 10 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 5 high schools; 26 points went to Palo Verde High School. Magnet, open-enrollment and charter seats are lotteries. Run the exact address on CCSD's zoning search before you write an offer.

  • CCSD's 2026-27 zoning sent 26 of the 31 Summerlin addresses we checked to Palo Verde High School.
  • Ten elementary schools served those 31 points, so neighboring streets can split at kindergarten.
  • CCSD's 2027-28 School Choice window runs October 5, 2026 to January 12, 2027 at 3 p.m.
  • Doral Academy Red Rock and Discovery Preparatory Academy Hillpointe are tuition-free charter campuses inside Summerlin.
  • Private campuses include The Meadows, Adelson, Dawson, Faith Lutheran and Bishop Gorman, each with separate admissions.

How Does CCSD Decide Which School a Summerlin Home Is Zoned For?

Every public school in Summerlin is a Clark County School District campus, whether the house sits in the City of Las Vegas or in unincorporated Clark County. The jurisdiction line changes your property-tax district and some city rules, but it does not change the school district. What sets the assigned school is the residence. According to CCSD's Open Enrollment FAQ, the district uses the official residence of the student's parent or legal guardian to establish the school to which the student is assigned. A village name, a builder brochure or a ZIP code is not part of that test.

The lines themselves are drawn by CCSD's Demographics, Zoning and GIS department. According to the district's 2026-27 zoning layer, attendance boundaries are reviewed annually, are subject to change, and any change takes effect at the beginning of a school year after the Board of School Trustees approves it. The same layer carries a separate kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school assignment for every zone, each tagged with the 2026-27 school year, and its data was last edited on July 30, 2026. The district's description of its zoning-zones dataset adds that attendance boundaries follow existing streets, parcel boundaries, municipal and ZIP code boundaries, flood-control features and the presumed future extensions of major roads, which is why a zone edge can run down the middle of an arterial between two neighborhoods.

That layer is the data behind the public CCSD zoning search. According to the Demographics, Zoning and GIS page, the search returns the assigned schools for a residential address along with contact information, websites and bus eligibility, and the department manages classroom space across 378 educational programs.

Two practical consequences follow for a buyer. First, a ZIP code is a poor stand-in for a school zone. Summerlin addresses run beyond the four ZIP codes most market reports use: The Pueblo village is in 89128, and Faiss Middle School, Berkley Elementary and Bishop Gorman High School, all in Summerlin's southern villages, carry 89148 addresses. Second, the zone is a fact about the parcel on a given date, not a permanent feature of the house, so it should be checked when you write the offer and again before closing.

Which CCSD Schools Are Located Inside Summerlin's Villages?

Summerlin's developer keeps a village-by-village record of what was built where. According to Summerlin's history page, the community is home to 14 public schools, 2 charter schools and 10 private schools, and a September 14, 2026 Summerlin release gives the same total, 26 public, private and charter schools. The history page names each of the 14 public schools and the village it sits in. The table pairs that list with each school's address and grade span from CCSD's zoning data.

According to the same history page, Lummis and Becker opened as Summerlin's first two public schools, flanking The Hills Park in the first village, and Palo Verde opened as the community's first public high school on a campus it shares with the College of Southern Nevada. West Career and Technical Academy is the one school in the table that nobody is zoned to; it fills its seats through CCSD's magnet application, covered below.

Two naming notes save confusion when you read a listing. CCSD's 2026-27 zoning data calls Becker a junior high school, while the district's 2025-26 school list and its open-enrollment list still call it a middle school; it serves grades 6 through 8 either way. And a school's physical location tells you little about its zone. Goolsby sits in Ridgebrook, yet in the zoning data it also covers Downtown Summerlin and The Gardens, while some homes a short drive from Lummis are zoned elsewhere. The next section shows how the zones actually fall.

What Did CCSD's 2026-27 Zoning Data Show at 31 Summerlin Addresses?

To test how Summerlin's zones fall, I needed points that are unambiguously inside the master plan. The Summerlin Council's December 2025 newsletter publishes a park map listing 30 Council parks with street addresses. I matched 28 of them to a precise point; South Tower Park and Terrace Park would not match to a precise address, so I left them out. I added The Trails and The Vistas community centers and Festival Plaza Drive in Downtown Summerlin, for 31 points. On October 8, 2026, I queried CCSD's 2026-27 zoning layer at each one.

The pattern is clear even from a sample. Ten elementary schools appear across the 31 points: Givens at 7, Goolsby and Lummis at 5 each, Bonner, Ober and Vassiliadis at 3 each, Staton at 2, and Batterman, Berkley and Bryan at 1 each. Four middle schools appear: Rogich at 16 points, Becker at 9, Fertitta at 5 and Faiss at 1. Five high schools appear: Palo Verde at 26 points, Durango at 2, and Spring Valley, Sierra Vista and Cimarron-Memorial at 1 each.

This is a sample of 31 addresses, not a map of every street, and parks sit at the centers of neighborhoods rather than at the edges where zones change. The ZIP column is the ZIP the address-matching service returned, which is why Cottonwood Canyon Park shows 89145. Treat the table as a picture of how the zones fall and as a reason to check your own address, not as an assignment for any particular home.

Which Elementary Schools Serve Summerlin Addresses?

Elementary zones are the smallest, and in Summerlin they cross village lines. Givens Elementary, at 655 Park Vista Drive in The Vistas, covered seven of the 31 points, from North Tower Park and Vistas Park to Redpoint Arroyo Park and Grand Park on the newer western edge. Lummis Elementary, at 9000 Hillpointe Road in The Hills, covered The Hills Park and The Trails, but also Reverence Park and The Hub in Summerlin West. That reach is by design. According to the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission page, the Board reconfirmed in 1995 the use of controlled zoning that includes corridors and noncontiguous zones, so an elementary zone can be a set of pieces rather than one block of streets.

Goolsby Elementary, at 11175 West Desert Inn Road, covered five points: Downtown Summerlin's Festival Plaza Drive, Sagemont Park, Spotted Leaf Park, Gardens Park and Ridgebrook Park. Bonner Elementary, at 765 Crestdale Lane in The Crossing, covered Cottonwood Canyon, The Crossing and Oxford parks. Ober Elementary covered three points in and around The Willows and Summerlin Centre, Vassiliadis covered Paseos Park, Fox Hill Park and Stonebridge Park, and Staton covered two of the three Arbors parks we checked; the third, Cottonwood Canyon, went to Bonner.

Three schools appeared once each, and each marks an edge of the master plan. Mesa Park, in The Mesa, was zoned to Batterman Elementary at 10135 West Quail Avenue, and Oak Leaf Park, farther down Mesa Park Drive, to Berkley Elementary at 9850 Copper Edge Road. The Pueblo, on Summerlin's eastern edge, was zoned to Bryan Elementary at 8050 Cielo Vista Avenue, which Summerlin's history page places in The Pueblo.

The useful takeaway is that the elementary school is the assignment most likely to differ between two homes you are comparing, even within one village. If an elementary school matters to your purchase, put the zoning-search result for each address side by side before you choose between houses, and do not rely on a neighbor's or a listing's description of the zone.

Gardens Park returned Goolsby Elementary, Fertitta Middle School and Spring Valley High School in CCSD's 2026-27 zoning data, one of five points not zoned to Palo Verde.

Which Middle Schools Serve Summerlin?

Four middle schools covered the 31 points. Sig Rogich Middle School, at 235 North Pavilion Center Drive in The Arbors, covered 16 of them, including Downtown Summerlin, The Vistas, The Paseos, Stonebridge, The Crossing and the Summerlin Centre park. Becker, at 9151 Pinewood Hills Drive in The Hills, covered nine, including The Trails, Reverence Park, The Hub, Grand Park and Redpoint Arroyo Park on the west side and The Pueblo Park on the east. Victoria Fertitta Middle School, at 9905 West Mesa Vista Avenue in ZIP 89148, covered five points in Summerlin South: The Willows Park, Spotted Leaf Park, Gardens Park, Ridgebrook Park and Mesa Park. Faiss Middle School, at 9525 West Maule Avenue, covered Oak Leaf Park.

The bigger lesson is that the elementary-to-middle path is not one-to-one. In the zoning data, Goolsby addresses split between Rogich, at Downtown Summerlin and Sagemont Park, and Fertitta, at Spotted Leaf, Gardens and Ridgebrook. Givens addresses split between Rogich, around North Tower Park, Vistas Park and Explorer Park, and Becker, around Ridge Pine, Redpoint Arroyo and Grand Park. Ober addresses split between Rogich at Village Green and the Summerlin Centre park and Fertitta at The Willows. Knowing a home's elementary school therefore does not tell you its middle school.

That is why the zoning search shows all three levels for one address, and why a buyer who cares about a particular middle school should look it up directly rather than infer it from the elementary assignment. It also explains why two homes zoned to the same elementary school can be zoned to different middle schools.

Middle-school boundaries can move too, and the district has a tool for softening a secondary-level change. According to the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission page, the commission may recommend legacy enrollment for a middle or high school boundary change, which lets currently enrolled students remain while incoming sixth or ninth graders and new students in the area are reassigned. Whether legacy enrollment applies is decided case by case, so it is not something to assume at purchase.

Which High Schools Are Summerlin Addresses Zoned For?

Palo Verde High School, at 333 South Pavilion Center Drive, was the zoned high school at 26 of the 31 points, from The Hills and The Trails in the north to Spotted Leaf Park in Summerlin South and Grand Park on the western edge. According to Summerlin's history page, Palo Verde opened in 1997 as Summerlin's first public high school and shares its campus with the College of Southern Nevada; CSN's own campus list places its Summerlin Center at the same 333 Pavilion Center Drive address.

The other five points are the ones buyers miss. Gardens Park was zoned to Spring Valley High School, at 3750 South Buffalo Drive in ZIP 89147. Ridgebrook Park and Mesa Park were zoned to Durango High School, at 7100 West Dewey Drive in ZIP 89113. Oak Leaf Park was zoned to Sierra Vista High School, at 8100 West Robindale Road, also in 89113. The Pueblo Park was zoned to Cimarron-Memorial High School, at 2301 North Tenaya Way in ZIP 89128.

In other words, the five non-Palo Verde points sit in The Gardens, Ridgebrook, The Mesa, the Oak Leaf Park area and The Pueblo. If you are shopping in Summerlin South or on the eastern edge, the high-school line matters as much as the elementary one, and it is worth checking each address on your list rather than assuming a Summerlin mailing address means Palo Verde. The district's open-enrollment and magnet processes, covered below, are the routes to a school other than the zoned one, and both run on application calendars that do not line up with most closing dates.

Are Any Summerlin Attendance Zones Under Review for 2027-28?

Boundary changes follow an annual cycle, and the current one is public. According to the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission page, the commission's volunteer members review attendance boundaries for all schools each year and recommend changes to the Superintendent and the Board; the process begins in August and ends no later than March. Most boundaries stay the same, and changes usually come when a new school needs a zone or an existing school is over capacity. Approved changes take effect at the start of the next school year.

According to the commission's focus-area page, five focus areas are under consideration in the 2026-2027 zoning season. Focus Area E1 sets a zone for a new elementary school at Shaumber Road and Sky Canyon Park Drive opening in 2027 and reviews Bilbray, Divich and Scherkenbach elementary schools in the northwest. E2 reviews McDoniel, Thorpe and Treem elementary schools in Henderson. M1 reviews Cortney Middle School and Greenspun Junior High School. H1 reviews Desert Oasis and Silverado high schools, and H2 reviews Chaparral, Clark, Desert Pines, Las Vegas, Rancho and Valley high schools.

None of the 19 schools in our 31-point table is named in those focus areas as of October 8, 2026. That is a statement about this season's agenda, not a promise that a Summerlin boundary will never move. According to the commission's meeting page, the 2026-2027 season met on September 22 and October 6, 2026, with scenarios for each focus area on the October 20, 2026 agenda, and its meetings are held at 2832 East Flamingo Road and live-streamed.

For a buyer, the practical step is simple. If you are closing between now and March, check the focus-area page again before your due-diligence period ends, and check the commission's approved-changes page, which lists the boundary changes approved for each school year.

How Does CCSD's Magnet and Career Academy Application Work?

Magnet programs are the main way to attend a CCSD school other than the zoned one by choice of program. According to CCSD's magnet application page, the 2027–2028 School Choice application opened on Monday, October 5, 2026, and the deadline is Tuesday, January 12, 2027, at 3:00 p.m. Students entering kindergarten through 10th grade can apply, and Clark High School, Las Vegas Academy, Del Sol Academy and some International Baccalaureate programs take 11th-grade applications. A kindergarten applicant must be five years old on or before August 1. No application, tuition or entrance fee is charged, though some programs charge a program fee once a student enrolls.

The application is shared with open enrollment. According to the open-enrollment page, you may submit up to five applications in total across magnet schools, open enrollment and the Central Technical Training Academy, with no more than three in any one category. According to the selection-process page, qualified applications go into a computerized random lottery after the deadline, and applicants not drawn go to an alternate pool. Preferences apply only to a student's first-choice, on-time application: a sibling preference when a sibling is enrolled at that school for the coming year, a geographic preference inside the school's preference area, a feeder preference for students already in a magnet elementary or middle school, and, for career and technical academies, a transportation-zone preference.

Entry rules differ by level. According to the qualification page, elementary and middle school magnets are interest-based, with no academic requirement. High school programs are interest-based, audition-based or criteria-based; a criteria-based program converts first-semester grades into points and requires at least 16 of a possible 26 to enter the lottery. According to the late-application page, late applications open the first Monday after CCSD's spring break and run through the tenth day of the school year, are processed only after on-time applicants and alternates, and carry no preferences.

Transportation is the detail that most often surprises a buyer. According to the magnet application page, any Clark County student may apply to any magnet program, but busing is provided only to students who live inside the program's designated transportation boundary and more than two miles from the school, per CCSD Regulation 3531.

What Should Buyers Know About West Career and Technical Academy?

West Career and Technical Academy is the magnet campus inside Summerlin. CCSD's school list places it at 11945 West Charleston Boulevard in ZIP 89135, and Summerlin's history page dates it to 2010 in the Summerlin Centre village. By road it is 2.0 miles and about 5 minutes from Festival Plaza Drive in Downtown Summerlin on our OSRM route of October 8, 2026.

According to CCSD's 2026 magnet booklet, West CTA is a full-school magnet for grades 9 through 12 with programs in business management, digital art and design, biomedical studies, biotechnology, cybersecurity, engineering, environmental sciences, nursing and sports medicine. The booklet labels career-academy programs as interest-based or criteria-based, so check the specific program's entry rule before applying. Most secondary magnet programs admit only 9th and 10th graders because their programs of study run at least three years.

Living nearby does not create a seat. West CTA is not a zoned school, so a Summerlin address gives no admission right; a qualified applicant goes into the same lottery as anyone else in the county. The address can help in one narrow way. The selection-process page gives career-academy applicants a transportation preference when they live inside that academy's transportation zone, applied to a first-choice, on-time application.

Athletics work differently at a career academy. According to the magnet application page, career and technical academies other than Southeast CTA do not take part in Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association athletics, so a West CTA student who wants to play a school sport works out eligibility with the zoned school and arranges their own transportation to practices and games. A student who accepts a magnet seat is expected to stay for the full school year, and the page notes that a student-athlete who returns to the zoned school can lose eligibility in a sport for 180 school days.

Can a Summerlin Student Use Open Enrollment to Attend Another CCSD School?

Open enrollment is CCSD's process for applying to a school outside your zone that has open seats, and it runs on the same calendar as magnets. According to the open-enrollment page, the on-time window for 2027–2028 runs from October 5, 2026 through January 12, 2027 at 3 p.m., and the late window runs from March 22 through August 20, 2027 at 3 p.m. If a school receives more applications than seats, a lottery decides, and seats can be filled through the tenth day of the school year. Accepting one seat automatically declines a student's other open-enrollment and magnet applications.

Which schools take applicants depends on space. According to the 2027–2028 eligibility list, read October 8, 2026, all ten elementary schools and all four middle schools in our 31-point table were on the list: Bonner, Givens, Goolsby, Lummis, Ober, Staton, Vassiliadis, Batterman, Berkley and Bryan, plus Rogich, Becker, Fertitta and Faiss. Of the five high schools, Durango and Cimarron-Memorial were on it; Palo Verde, Spring Valley and Sierra Vista were not. A school appears on the list only when the district finds available capacity, so the list can change from year to year.

The terms are strict. According to CCSD's Open Enrollment FAQ, CCSD transportation is not provided for open-enrollment students, a student must stay at least one school year, the placement is good through the highest grade at that school, and a new application is required to move from elementary to middle or from middle to high school. Sibling preference applies only to a first-choice, on-time application when the sibling is enrolled at that school for the coming year, and an appeal to the Superintendent is reviewed on available space only.

For a buyer, open enrollment is a backup rather than a plan. A home bought in a zone you do not want, on the expectation of an open-enrollment seat at Palo Verde, starts from a school that was not on the 2027–2028 list when we read it.

Which Charter Schools Have Campuses in Summerlin?

Charter schools are public and tuition-free, but they sit outside the CCSD zoning system. Under NRS 388A.366, a charter school may not charge tuition or fees beyond those a school district may charge. Under NRS 388A.453, an application may be submitted each year for any student residing in Nevada; when eligible applicants outnumber spaces, the school uses a lottery, held no sooner than 45 days after it begins accepting applications. NRS 388A.456 lets a charter enroll certain applicants first, including siblings of current students and children of the school's employees or governing body.

Summerlin's history page counts two charter schools in the community, and the state's map identifies both campuses. According to the State Public Charter School Authority's charter map, linked from its SPCSA Schools page, the two are Doral Academy Las Vegas, Red Rock campus, and Discovery Preparatory Academy, Hillpointe campus.

Discovery Preparatory Academy, HillpointeK–88941 Hillpointe Rd, 89134Applications January 5 to February 27, 2026; lottery February 28, 20265.9 miles, about 12 minutes

According to Doral Academy Red Rock's site, its elementary school is at 626 Crossbridge Drive and its middle and high school at 610 Crossbridge Drive; Summerlin's history page places the campus west of The Paseos village. Discovery Preparatory Academy's Hillpointe campus page gives 8941 Hillpointe Road, the same street as The Hills Park; Summerlin's history page calls The Hills village charter Discovery Charter School, and the website the SPCSA map lists for the campus, dcslv.org, now forwards to Discovery Preparatory Academy's site. The lottery dates in the table are the latest the SPCSA map showed when we read it, from the early-2026 cycle, so confirm the 2027-28 dates with each school.

Two cautions apply. A charter seat is not tied to your address the way a zoned school is, so it should not be the reason you choose one house over another. And charter enrollment does not change the CCSD zone attached to the home.

Which Private Schools and Colleges Are in or Near Summerlin?

Summerlin's history page counts 10 private schools in the community. The five below are the ones whose own websites I could read on October 8, 2026 for an address and grade span. I list facts only: where each campus is, which grades it serves and how far it is by road. Tuition, admissions tests and deadlines are set by each school and change every year.

The addresses and grade spans come from each school's own page: The Meadows School's contact page, The Adelson School's admissions page, Dawson's about page, which describes a 33-acre campus, Faith Lutheran's middle-school page, and Bishop Gorman's admissions page. Summerlin's history page supplies the villages and describes Bishop Gorman's Mesa campus at more than 52 acres and Adelson's at 14 acres.

Calendars run well ahead of most home closings. Bishop Gorman's home page showed applications open for the 2027-2028 school year on October 8, 2026, and Faith Lutheran's application page warns that files not completed by February 12 face a higher chance of a waiting-pool decision. For college, the College of Southern Nevada's campus list places its Summerlin Center at 333 Pavilion Center Drive, and Roseman University's campus page lists its Summerlin Campus at 10530 Discovery Drive. UNLV, at 4505 South Maryland Parkway, is 13.6 miles and about 26 minutes from Downtown Summerlin on our OSRM route.

How Do You Verify the Schools for a Specific Summerlin Home Before You Buy?

The work takes about ten minutes per address, and it settles the question before you are under contract. Here is the order I use for buyers.

  1. Run the exact address on CCSD's zoning search. Use the full street address, not the community name, and save a dated screenshot or PDF of the result, which shows all three levels.
  2. Compare every home on your shortlist. Our 31-point table shows that neighboring parks can split at the elementary, middle or high school level, so two finalists can differ even inside one village.
  3. Check this season's boundary review. Look at the commission's focus-area page for the schools on your result, and again before your due-diligence period ends if you are buying between August and March.
  4. Ignore the listing's school field. A listing's school information is typed in by the listing side and can carry over from an earlier sale or a builder's brochure. The district's search is the record that governs.
  5. Put choice applications on your calendar. If a magnet, charter or private school is part of your plan, its deadline may fall before your closing date, and in 2027-28 the CCSD on-time deadline is January 12, 2027.
  6. Ask about transportation. The zoning search shows bus eligibility for zoned schools; magnet busing requires the transportation zone and the two-mile rule; open enrollment has no busing.

The same steps work anywhere in the valley, because the whole county is one district. A buyer comparing Summerlin with Centennial Hills, Henderson or Green Valley can run each address the same way, and the Las Vegas hub covers the rest of the city. A gate does not change the answer either: in guard-gated communities the assignment still follows the parcel, not the gatehouse.

For the neighborhoods themselves, our Summerlin neighborhoods guide walks the villages, our Summerlin living guide covers parks, dues, taxes and drive times, and our Summerlin vs Inspirada comparison shows the same zoning method applied in Henderson. Our 89135 school-zone map, our Las Vegas vs Summerlin comparison and our valley-wide schools and parks guide add more context, and the community directory and relocation page cover the rest of the valley; where any of them differs from the 2026-27 zoning data above, the district's search governs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which high school do most Summerlin addresses attend?

Palo Verde High School, at 333 South Pavilion Center Drive, was the zoned high school at 26 of the 31 Summerlin reference points we checked in CCSD's 2026-27 zoning data on October 8, 2026. The other five went to Durango, at Ridgebrook Park and Mesa Park; Spring Valley, at Gardens Park; Sierra Vista, at Oak Leaf Park; and Cimarron-Memorial, at The Pueblo Park. Because the exceptions sit in Summerlin South and on the eastern edge, run the exact address on CCSD's zoning search rather than assuming a Summerlin mailing address means Palo Verde.

Which elementary schools serve Summerlin?

Ten elementary schools appeared at the 31 Summerlin points we checked in CCSD's 2026-27 zoning data: Givens, Goolsby, Lummis, Bonner, Ober, Vassiliadis, Staton, Batterman, Berkley and Bryan. Givens covered the most points, seven, mostly in The Vistas and the western villages. Elementary zones are the smallest of the three levels and cross village lines, so two homes in one village can be zoned to different schools. All ten serve kindergarten through fifth grade. Confirm the assignment for any specific home on the district's zoning search.

Does living in Summerlin guarantee a seat at West Career and Technical Academy?

No. West Career and Technical Academy, at 11945 West Charleston Boulevard, is a full-school CCSD magnet for grades 9 through 12, and nobody is zoned to it. Qualified applicants from anywhere in Clark County enter a random lottery after the January 12, 2027 deadline for the 2027-28 year. A Summerlin address helps only through the transportation-zone preference CCSD gives career-academy applicants who live inside that academy's transportation zone, and only on a first-choice, on-time application.

When are CCSD's magnet and open-enrollment deadlines for 2027-28?

CCSD's School Choice application for the 2027-2028 school year opened on October 5, 2026, and the on-time deadline is Tuesday, January 12, 2027, at 3:00 p.m. You may submit up to five applications across magnet schools, open enrollment and the Central Technical Training Academy, with no more than three in any category. Open enrollment has a late window from March 22 through August 20, 2027, and magnet late applications open the first Monday after spring break.

Are there charter schools in Summerlin?

Yes. The State Public Charter School Authority's map lists Doral Academy Red Rock, a kindergarten-through-12th-grade campus at 610 and 626 Crossbridge Drive, and Discovery Preparatory Academy's Hillpointe campus, kindergarten through 8th grade, at 8941 Hillpointe Road. Under NRS 388A.366 charter schools charge no tuition, and under NRS 388A.453 any Nevada student may apply, with a lottery when applicants exceed spaces. Their most recent lottery dates on the state map were from early 2026, so confirm the next cycle with each school.

What private schools are located in Summerlin?

Summerlin's history page counts 10 private schools. Five whose own websites we read on October 8, 2026 are The Meadows School, preschool through grade 12, at 8601 Scholar Lane; The Adelson School, preschool through grade 12, at 9700 Hillpointe Road; The Alexander Dawson School, early childhood through grade 8, at 10845 West Desert Inn Road; Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School at 2015 South Hualapai Way; and Bishop Gorman High School at 5959 South Hualapai Way. Each sets its own tuition and admissions calendar.

Can a Summerlin school zone change after I buy?

Yes. CCSD reviews attendance boundaries every year through its Attendance Zone Advisory Commission, from August to no later than March, and approved changes take effect at the start of the next school year. None of the 19 schools in our 31-point table appeared in the five focus areas listed for the 2026-2027 zoning season as of October 8, 2026. For middle and high school changes, the commission may recommend legacy enrollment that lets current students stay. Recheck the zoning search before closing.

Is Henderson in the same school district as Summerlin?

Yes. The Clark County School District serves the whole county, including Summerlin, the rest of Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, so the zoning search, magnet calendar and open-enrollment rules are the same everywhere. What differs is the zone attached to each address. A buyer comparing a Summerlin home with one in Henderson or Green Valley should run both addresses on CCSD's zoning search and compare the elementary, middle and high school results side by side, along with the 2027-28 application dates if choice programs matter.

How Can We Help You Check the Schools for a Summerlin Address?

School zoning is the kind of detail that is easy to check early and hard to change after closing, and it is part of how we prepare a Summerlin search. When you send us a shortlist, we can run every address on CCSD's zoning search, save the dated results for your file, and flag where two finalists split at the elementary, middle or high school level. We can check whether any school on your results appears in the current boundary review, and we can line up the 2027-28 magnet, open-enrollment, charter and private-school dates against your contract and closing timeline so that a deadline does not pass while you are in escrow.

We also keep the conversation on facts you can verify. I do not rate schools or tell anyone which one to choose; my job is to make sure you know, from the district's own records, which schools an address is zoned for on the day you buy it, and what you would need to do to apply somewhere else. Nevada Real Estate Group has represented 9,600+ Las Vegas-metro closings over 16+ years, including 789 in 2025, and we work from the district's record rather than the listing for every address on your list.

If Summerlin is on your list, start with our Summerlin homes for sale page and the village pages linked above, then call our team at (702) 637-1759 or reach out here with the addresses you are considering. We will run the zoning search with you and walk through the application calendar for any program you are weighing.

Which Sources Inform This Summerlin Schools Guide?

Zoning results are our own queries of CCSD's 2026-27 zoning layer on October 8, 2026, at 31 addresses taken from the Summerlin Council's park map, matched to coordinates with Esri's World Geocoding Service; drive times are our OSRM routes on the same date in free-flowing traffic.
