Students in the Old Northwest area will attend primary schools such as Towles Elementary School, Elmcrest Elementary School and Peavine Elementary School. These schools offer education from kindergarten through grades six. Regardless of school, students will follow the standard curriculum and have additional choices for sports, extracurriculars and more.

Both Clayton Middle School, grades seven and eight, and Washoe Wolf High School, grades nine through twelve, are both located in the Old Northwest Reno area. Along with a selection of courses, classes and programs, these schools feature a number of extracurricular activities, groups and clubs for students to join and enjoy.
