Verdi Elementary School is a relatively small primary school consisting of just 286 students, all within pre-kindergarten to the 6th grade. Located on Bridge Street, Verdi is about 6.5 miles west of Lawton, making for an 11 minute drive.

B.D. Billinghurst Middle School educates over 925 students in the 6th to 8th grades. This top-rated school falls under the top 30 percent in all of Nevada for their overall test scores. Located on Chesterfield Lane, Billinghurst is only 4 minutes from the residents of Lawton.

Robert McQueen High School is another top-rated school in Washoe County. Home to approximately 1,746 students, McQueen provides education to those in the 9th to the 12th grades. The school holds a consistent 94 percent graduation rate, which falls under the top 20 percent in the state. Located on Lancer Street, the school is approximately 8 minutes from the Lawton neighborhood.
