Montreux, Reno Overview

In 1997, construction began on a golf course, country club, and custom-home community in southwest Reno, known as Montreux Golf and Country Club. Montreux stretches over 726 acres of land, with 540 homesites and counting. Parc Foret is the newest subdivision to break ground in the neighborhood made up of elegant custom European and Alpine-style homes with 24-hour security. The clubhouse at the country club sits on 34,000 square feet, resembling a French country manor. Members have access to an elite fitness center, swimming pool, two hot tubs, tennis courts, sport court for an abundance of sports, and a playground for children.

The Jack Nicklaus designed course is private to residents and members and is one of Nicklaus’ “top five courses,” by his own accord. The 7,500 yards of play leads into the surrounding forest and wilderness of the Toiyabe National Forest, giving glimpses of sensational Mt. Rose. Montreux is the only Jack Nicklaus designed course in northern Nevada, at one point ranking 26th in PGA Tour difficulty. It hosted the Reno-Tahoe Open, later known as the Barracuda Championship, for 20 years beginning in 1999.

Montreux is a 10-minute drive from Mt. Rose Ski Resort, a popular resort for residents of southern Reno. Only 10 minutes further is Incline Village, home to the Incline Village Championship Golf Course. Galena Creek Regional Park and Recreation Area’s idyllic forest trails are 5 minutes from the gates of Montreux. Fifteen minutes further is Bowers Mansion Regional Park. Bowers Mansion is a well-maintained historic site alongside a park with a playground, swimming pool, and seasonal concert series’. Closer to home, Montreux also hosts an annual spring Concert on the Green event, showcasing music and some of the best local food.

Parents and students of Montreux do not need to travel far to ensure an excellent education. Kindergarteners through fifth graders attend Hunsberger Elementary School, located just outside the gates of Arrowcreek near Sage Ridge School. Pine Middle School has served students of the community. In the fall of 2020, Herz Middle School will open to students of Montreux. Galena High School serves high schoolers in the area. The school joined the Washoe County School District in 1992, beginning their rivalry with Damonte Ranch High School in 2003. Bishop Manogue Catholic High School is a private school available to high schoolers, located on South Virginia Street near Arrowcreek Parkway.
